Teriyaki Chicken Marinade

It’s easy to make chicken teriyaki from scratch, thus avoiding many pre-made sauces that contain preservatives and artificial colourings. Here is a quick and simple recipe.

Marinade ingredients for 500g (1lb) of chicken:    

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons unseasoned rice vinegarĀ 
  • 1 heaped tablespoon brown sugar
  • approx 3/4 tablespoon finely grated ginger
  • a swig of sesame oil

Directions:

Mix ingredients and marinate meat for at least 3-6 hours. Cook in your preferred way, on a BBQ or in the oven.
